The Faculty of Science and Engineering’s Student Experience Action Fund (SEAF) is now entering its third year, continuing to offer students the opportunity to improve the university experience for themselves and their peers. Open to all taught FSE students, including those on the Foundation Studies programme, the fund provides grants ranging from £50 to £250 for projects and events designed to enhance community, collaboration and wellbeing within the faculty.

On Monday, 29 April, the Students’ Union held their annual academic awards. These awards celebrate the magnificent work of staff and students at the University and FSE colleagues were delighted to receive awards in several categories. These included: Congratulations to everyone who was recognised at the awards.

Impact by Instructure offers several tools to enhance engagement among staff and students. This article will provide an overview of Campaigns, Campaign Templates, and Walkthroughs, highlighting their key features and benefits.

The SEP evaluation committee is seeking feedback from a variety of colleagues and students to evaluate the ‘people and structures’ component of SEP.

Case Study: This project was set up to explore a way to enable all students to apply themselves to tutorial questions as well as affording the additional possibility of enabling students to remain anonymous when showing their maths workings to the class and when receiving feedback on these workings.

As well as delivering the material and assessments, it is important that we ensure our teaching provides opportunities for all students to be successful on their programme, whatever their background and individual needs.
